Warning Description: Winter Weather Advisory

Warning Date: 9:42 PM EST on February 8, 2010

WarningSum:...Winter Weather Advisory In Effect From 5 Am Tuesday To 5 Am
Est Wednesday...

Warning Message:The National Weather Service in Raleigh has issued a Winter
Weather Advisory for a wintry mixture of precipitation which is in
effect from 5 am Tuesday to 5 am EST Wednesday.
Snow will begin around daybreak over portions of The Triad
region... then change to freezing rain by late morning. Freezing
rain or rain is expected in the afternoon... with a change back to
light snow possible before ending Tuesday evening...
Snowfall of up to an inch of snow may accumulate before the
change to freezing rain by late morning. A glaze of up to one
tenth of an inch may accumulate during the day.
Travel during the morning rush hour through the early afternoon
may be interrupted by the wintry mixture of precipitation.
Temperatures around 30 at daybreak will slowly rise to between 32
and 34 during the afternoon... then fall back below freezing
Tuesday evening. Motorists should be especially cautious on
bridges and overpasses and on secondary roads. If enough snow
falls before the change to freezing rain the interstates may
become hazardous.
A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow...sleet...or
freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for
slippery roads and limited visibilities...and use caution while
driving.
