Warning Description: Special Weather Statement

Warning Date: 10:24 PM EDT on July 5, 2008

WarningSum:...Strong Thunderstorms Will Move Across Forsyth County Through 1130
Pm Edt...

Warning Message:At 1024 PM EDT...Doppler radar indicated strong thunderstorms over
Winston-Salem...moving northeast at 18 mph.
The strong thunderstorms will be near Walkertown around 1040 PM EDT.
Gusty winds of 35 to 45 mph...very heavy rain and dangerous 
cloud-to-ground lightning can be expected with these storms. 
Rainfall amounts exceeding one inch during the next hour can be 
expected along US Highway three eleven from Winston Salem to 
Walkertown. Motorists should drive with caution to avoid 
hydroplaning. 
If you see lightning or hear thunder...you are at risk. Take shelter 
indoors immediately. If you cannot find shelter in a building a 
vehicle provides safety from lightning.
